La Cía. “Yo Misma” es la compañía de circo unipersonal de quien suscribe.

WHO AM I?

Cia. "Yo misma" (Myself Co.) is my name. A name that defines this one-person circus company.

EL COMIENZO

Todo comenzó allá por el año 1996.

Entre Pablo Rutkus y los Hermanos Videla - Escuela de Circo Criollo y entre trapecios, acrobacias, zancos, danza, teatro y baile flamenco, me lanzo a la aventura que implica dedicarse al mundo del circo.

Así trabajo en Argentina, Uruguay y Brasil los primeros 5 años de aprendizajes, caídas, alegrías y algunas lágrimas.

Voy empezando a percibir que la vida de la artista no es tan fácil, aunque después de casi 20 años, sigo apostando y poniendo todo mi corazón en ella.

THE BEGINNING

This all started in the year 1996. Amongst Pablo Rutkus, Videla Brothers - Criollo Circus School and between the trapeze, acrobatics, stilts, theater and flamenco dancing, I rushed to engage the adventurist [a]world involving the circus. I worked in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil for the first 5 years of climbing, falling, laughing and crying. I'm beginning to think that the life of an artist is not such an easy one.

En 2001 viajo a Europa y me quedo viviendo en España hasta el 2015.

In 2001 I travelled to Europe and I'm still here ....for the moment.

NACE SEVELINDA DE CABEZA

2004 es el año en el que estreno en Madrid el montaje “Todo Con-fussion”. Sevelinda de cabeza, reina y señora de este espectáculo, ha conseguido ya, hacerse con las riendas de mi propia vida.

SEVELINDA DE CABEZA ORIGIN

2004 is the year in which the premiere staging of "Todo Con-fussion" (All Confussion) took place in Madrid. Sevelinda de Cabeza, queen and lady of the show, having gained success already, gave me the inspiration to take control of my own life.

INMUJERABLE (Homenaje a la Mujer)

Estrenado el 6 de mayo de 2010 en el Festival “Urbanica” (Jaén). 

“Inmujerable (Poética en Danza Aérea)” era una necesidad que tenía de hablar de las mujeres, desde la mujer que soy. 

INMUJERABLE (Tribute to Women)

This performance was released on May 6, 2010 at the Festival "Urbanica" (Jaén). "Inmujerable (Poetics in Aerial Dance)" was a need I had to talk about women, from the perspective of a woman, as I am.

MALGAMA (Circontemporaneo y Compás)

Este espectáculo, ahora llamado "Malgama 1.1", ha sido reestrenado en agosto del 2014, bajo la producción de Choni Cía. Flamenca.

En 2005 conozco, por casualidad, a Bifu (Director de la compañía sevillana Varuma Teatro) y me embarco en su proyecto "Malgama", con el mejor equipo de artistas con quienes crear un espectáculo de flamenco y circo.

"Malgama" fué un auténtico éxito con el que hicimos mas de 200 funciones y ganamos enormidad de premios y olé!

MALGAMA 

This show, now called "Malgama 1.1", has been re-released in august 2014, under the production of Choni Cia. Flamenca.

In 2005 I met, by chance, Bifu (Director of the Seville Theatre Company Varuma) and I was asked to join his "Malgama" with the best known team of artists who create shows mixing the two worlds of flamenco and circus. "Malgama" was a great success with more than 200 performances and we won loads of awards, y olé!

CURSO DIRECCIÓN ESCÉNICA con MARÍA RUÍZ

El 10 de junio de 2011 estrena “Yerma Mate-R”, proyecto del Curso de Dirección Escénica con la Profesora, Maestra y Sensei María Ruiz. 

Una arriesgada adaptación en clave de humor de la obra “Yerma” de F. G. Lorca que, gracias a María Ruiz y a un espectácular elenco de actrices, fué un éxito en su única función.

STAGE MANAGEMENT COURSE with MARÍA RUIZ

On June 10, 2011 took place the premiere of the "Yerma Mate-R" project within the Stage Management course lead by professor, teacher and sensei Maria Ruiz.A risky humorous adaptation of the play "Yerma" by F. G. Lorca, that thanks to Maria Ruiz and a spectacular cast of actresses, was a great success.

CURSOS

Los casi 20 años que llevo dedicandome al mundo del Circo y las Artes Escénicas, me han enseñado la importancia de formar a las nuevas generaciones. Con varios cursos y talleres en mi haber, refuerzo cada vez mas el deseo y la necesidad de transmitir todo este conocimiento que tanto trabajo me sigue constando, pero tantas satisfacciones me regala en cada proyecto que emprendo.

COURSES

The 20 years I've been dedicating myself to the world of Circus and Performing Arts, has taught me the importance of educating new generations. With several courses and workshops under my belt now, I have an increasing desire and need to transmit my knowledge…..so much so that the work costs me dearly, but I get so much satisfaction in every project I undertake.
